Im Rahmen des "Salone del Mobile 2008" zeigt die Ausstellung MADE IN BERLIN in der Zona Tortona ausgewähltes Arbeiten von 19 Berliner Designbüros. Der Ausstellungsraum besteht aus einem Zeltbau der Firma ZENDOME der dem Berliner Fernsehturm nachempfunden ist.

Initiiert wurde der Design Dome von Susanne Phillipson/HIDDEN FORTRESS, ZENDOME, und COORDINATION in Kooperation mit CREATE BERLIN und DMY.

For the Shanghai International Creative Industry Week COORDINATION will exhibit a temporary Pop-Up Studio in the German Design Center. The German Design Center incorporates selected works of German design companies, who are actively involved in Shanghai. For one week, a platform has been erected for the exhibit, reading and exchange of design.

15th - 21st November 2007

On October 9th 2007, the Minister of State for Culture and Media, Bernd Neumann,  celebrated the opening of the new permanent exhibition at The Forum of Contemporary History in Leipzig. In recent years, COORDINATION has completely restored the permanent exhibition and has redesigned some of the essentials. In addition, the Exhibit has been greatly extended and now covers an area of almost 2000 sqm. The exhibit showcases over 3500 documents, objects and large scale showpieces which account the alternating history of both German states from 1945 to our present day.

”What makes Shanghai addictive?” is an mixed media event and exhibition of mass produced images, which are printed on posters and declared to be bulk goods. “What makes Shanghai addictive?” is art for the masses, it is tangible and it challenges the audience to satisfy their addiction to unique motifs and urban art.

For this year's presentation of the new Fire+Ice Collection at the Premium Fashion Fair in Berlin, COORDINATION designed a stand that reflects Bogner's philosophy, a balance between sports and luxury. On 45 sqm, bright white reflective surfaces, as radiant as the snow on a clear winter day, remind the visitor of a ski slope. Two red dynamic stripes on the otherwise white PVC floor and on the high-gloss white back wall evoke the speed of downhill skiing, while a huge clear-blue 4m3 cubic meter ice display lets them actually feel the winter cold.

For the Designmai 2007, COORDINATION along with the illustrators of JACQUESETBRIGITTE will open their doors and venture to look back. THE BLACK WAVE exhibition, by means of objects, illustrations, models and photos will showcase the works and influences of the last few years between Berlin, Tokyo, Moscow and Shanghai.

The exhibition is complemented by the installation ‘Kyaaa’ (2007) of japanese artist Yuka Oyama.

The british telecommunications company The Phone House commissioned COORDINATION to develop a new retail design concept and display system. The new flagship store, located directly on Frankfurt's primary shopping precinct Zeil, opened its doors in March 2007. On 240 sqm COORDINATION created a fresh corporate environment for The Phone House - in the style of a boutique with an adjacent business lounge. The new environment translates the company's innovative character into a unique three-dimensional environment.

For a succession of trade fair appearances COORDINATION developed an adaptable and expandable stand system for the Falke brand which builds a strong corporate environment in various contexts.

The first setup of the stand took place in January 2007 at theinternationally well-known fair for men's fashion, Pitti Uomo in Florence - with a focus on Falke Fashion. Afterwards the stand went again to Berlin's Premium fashion fair, where now the focus was put on the Ergonomic Sport System collection.

For the following exhibition space at ISPO Winter in Munich, the stand was extended by a prolongation of the back wall and also by a catering counter.

With "The Phone Exchange Workshop" the telecommunication company 'The Phone House' goes guerilla. For a store in Germany COORDINATION in collaboration with 'Berlinomat - Platform for Berlin Design' came up with a retail concept very unusual in the telecommunications sector: a temporary Pop Up Store. In the fashion industry this is a widely accepted form of guerilla marketing, but taken out of this context and applied to a telecommunications store, this form of retail environment is an absolute novelty.

COORDINATION created a space with a vibrant bipolar atmosphere, pulsating between the two extremes 'workshop' and 'castle'. In the entrance area a very special device drew the attention of passers-by and led them into the store: With a giant drill machine customers could drill a hole into their old phone, nail it right on one of the long side walls and write their personal dedication next to it.

For the promotion of their new game console called Wii, Nintendo rented an empty 120 sqm apartment in Berlin Kreuzberg, where people could go and test it before the official launch date on December 8th, 2006
COORDINATION transformed the space into a stylish design environment for the Wii gamers that complements the innovative design of the console and the progressive interface concept. The Wii Crib became a cozy yet animating loft with carefully chosen furniture and accessory pieces from the design range of COORDINATION's Flip Sellin, such as the 'Nullserie' low seats, the 'Twiggy' curtain made of hundreds of little coloured felt elements or the 'Lockheed' chromed steel bench.

For a couple of years, Berlin has been developing its very own, original appeal and dynamic in terms of design and is establishing itself as an inter-disciplinary trend workshop. The multi-faceted „Berlin Style“ and the unique atmosphere of the city mutually shape and influence one another. The exhibition takes Berlin’s image as an open, demanding pop-cultural metropolis as main idea and asks young graphic and media artists: „What makes Berlin addictive?” Current positions and ideas from Graphic and Media Design are exhibited together with “wanted style” posters with statements and short descriptions of the designers.

After the fashion focused exhibitions in Milan and Tokyo and the Graphic Design exhibition at the Designmai in Berlin, now the diversity of Berlin Product Design is brought into the international spotlight at the RED in Moscow. The RED is a semi-annual international fair for Fashion and Accessories which will open its doors for the first time in August. Within the scope of the exhibition by ‘create berlin’, a mix of high quality Product Design with main focus on Jewelry, Lifestyle Accessories and Furniture will be presented on a 200 sqm area. Exclusiveness and high value are of primary importance. Goal is to emphasize the diversity and broad creative spectrum of Berlin, to address the sophisticated Moscow audience and to build contacts, to create a strong presence of Berlin Design on the Moscow market medium-term.

With their appearance at the PREMIUM 2006, Falke presents itself for the first time in the high fashion segment. On show are selected pieces of the new Urban Outdoor Collection. Fashion by Falke has an unmistakable and functional-elegant character based on a consequent ergonomic fitting of the clothing to the human body.

Coordination has transferred this idea into built space and has created an environment which adapts unconditionally to the respective use and encloses the collections in a flowing motion.

The gallery ARTMBASSY Berlin is planning the opening of further branches in Germany and Europe. To give the individual locations a consistent appearance and to emphasize their common identity and underlying idea, a furniture edition is being specially developed for the gallery. Focus is the development of bench / single seating elements as well as tables and counters to give each respective gallery at their different locations an unmistakable identity. The entire collection is light in appearance and folds for transport, emphasizing the idea of travel of the individual exhibitions and the flexibility of the gallery concept.
